Folkness land on Electronic Nature with “Junk Box”, a groove-rich, funk-leaning roller designed to inject instant feel-good energy into the room.
Built around a bouncy bassline and crisp, playful percussion, “Junk Box” swings with confidence. Subtle funk touches, tight drum work and cheeky vocal stabs keep the rhythm light yet effective, balancing warmth with undeniable dancefloor punch. Infectious, effortlessly uplifting & made for peak time moments on the dancefloor, it’s a fun House cut that works without overcomplicating the formula.
Formed by long-time friends Norbert and Matt, Folkness officially launched the project in 2019, though their journey in electronic music stretches back more than 17 years. Their sound sits firmly within house music, blending elements of deep house, tech house, and disco house into groove-led productions built for the dancefloor. The duo have performed across Europe, from Ibiza to major UK festivals and some of Poland’s biggest stages including Sunrise Festival, sharing line-ups with Claptone, Sam Divine, Todd Terry, Catz ’n Dogz, Ten Walls, The Shapeshifters, Illyus & Barrientos, Monki, Cassimm, and Hannah Wants.
In the studio, Folkness have built a growing catalogue on respected labels including Toolroom, Club Sweat, Adesso, Wh0 Plays, Jackies, and Stealth Records, the iconic imprint founded by Roger Sanchez. They’ve collaborated with artists such as The Cube Guys, Jerry Ropero, Wh0, DJ PP, and Hatiras, while their official remix of Groove Armada’s “Superstylin’” arrived via BMG UK in 2023, followed by an official remix for Jerry Ropero in 2024. Their productions have also received regular airplay on BBC Radio 1, Kiss FM, Radio FG, and SLAM FM.
With “Junk Box”, Folkness add another groove-driven weapon to their catalogue, delivering a warm and charismatic statement on Electronic Nature.
